ABOUT SpeedLax

Speed Lax is a format of lacrosse we use for Summer SpeedLax and the Romp in da Swamp.  It is a 3v3 game on a small-sided field to exponentially raise lacrosse participation for girls and boys of all ages. Speed Lax significantly reduces barriers to entry and makes sampling lacrosse simple.

WHY SpeedLax?

  • Small Roster sizes, so everyone plays
  • 3v3 format to develop hand/eye, passing, and agility skills
  • SpeedLax is simple to try
  • Emphasis on teamwork, ball movement with and without the ball, and field spacing
  • Improve skills with footwork, passing, catching, cutting, and playing together as a team.
  • Lacrosse can be played anytime, anywhere – in places you’ve never imagined
  • Exercising the fundamentals of lacrosse is the key to improvement
  • Being in a match means rapid touches, decisions & development

SpeedLax Format

  • Games consist of 3 players vs. 3 players
  • Mini 4x4 goals are used
  • Equipment needed is a stick, mouthguard, and reversible pinnie.
  • The stick must be a standard “short stick” only, defined as 40” to 42” in length for boys & 35.6” to 43.6” for girls. NO DEFENSIVE LONG POLES
